Abstract :
This paper proposes the provision of quintuple-play services (high-speed wired data, voice, high-definition audio and video, wireless data and security and domotic applications) employing only orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based radio-over-fiber (RoF) optical transmission in a deep fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) passive optical network. The different wireless signals form a RoF bundle comprising DVB-T signals for TV broadcasting, an LTE signal for voice, a WiMAX signal for wireless data supporting management and home security applications, and UWB for high definition audio and video distribution. An I/Q OFDM signal is also included in the bundle providing wired Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) connectivity.
