  • Abstract
Summary form only given. In the Moscow Power Engineering Institute a universal plant has been constructed which allows one to measure the effective cross section of slow electron inelastic collisions with atoms of practically all the chemical elements, as well as with different molecules. The electron energy range is from 0 to 200 eV, the spectrum region is from 0.19 to 1.2 microns. A method of extended crossing beams with the recording of the excited particle optical radiation is used. Cross sections of excitation and excitation with simultaneous ionization have been measured for 53 elements, as well as for 10 molecules of oxides and 14 molecules of alkali halides. Tables of effective cross sections for 26 elements have been certified as reference data. The results obtained can be used when considering kinetic problems. of plasma physics, for the solution of which reference data on atomic and molecular constants are required.
