Abstract
We utilize a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) stabilized diode laser at 980 nm that was designed for as a pump source for an erbium doped fiber amplifier (EDFA). Pump diode lasers with a DFG pump source have hundreds milliwatts of high optical power and are of a relatively reasonable cost compared to using YAG lasers, fiber lasers, or other diode lasers. Frequency stability performance by FBGs has been proven in the telecommunication field. Such pump diode lasers at 980 nm and circularized diode lasers at 780nm are difference frequency mixed in a temperature controlled Mg doped periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal
