Abstract
In order to save the energy of the wastewater treatment, the SBR process was investigated under low DO condition with real-time control. The pH, DO and ORP probes were monitored online with the reaction temperature was 23 ± 0.5°C, MLSS was 2500 mg/L and the aeration volume was 20 L/h. The results showed that PO4 3--P and the ammonia concentration in the reactor were completely removed with real-time control. The DO value increased slowly in the first 150 minutes and then began to increase sharply. So at this time the aeration was stopped to save supply air amounts about 17% compared with no real time control. So the real-time control strategy has been set up under low DO condition, and this method could save the energy consumption of the wastewater treatment.
