  • Abstract
    Based on the parameters of the Shandong power grid and the Ningdong-Shandong HVDC system, an electromagnetic transient model of the Shandong power grid, which includes generators, transformers, transmission lines, reactive power compensation devices etc., is constructed in the PSCAD/EMTDC environment. The electromagnetic transient model of the HVDC system includes the converter stations and the control systems. By adjusting the power flow distribution of the grid and three phase short-circuit currents of the buses in main substations, the dynamic characteristics of grid are proved to be nearly equal under the program of PSCAD and PSASP.
