Abstract :
The project \´\´GPS: a platform to model, reuse and measure software process management (TIN-2004-0783)" (funded by Spanish government) has as the main goal to make a tool that helps software engineers satisfy effective practices as they have been defined by most well-known international institutions such us ISO, SEI and PMI. The purpose of this article is to show the initial phase results of the GPS project. These results were obtained from experience gained by a research team using the most important software process improvement reference models, software process management tools, process modeling languages and the classification techniques in knowledge retrieval.
