Abstract
It reported a study on secondary school English teachers´ perceptions of task-based language teaching (TBLT) and the impacts of their perceptions on their teaching practice. Based on the study, it explored the main factors that cause the current situation. The findings suggest that the teachers had a scanty knowledge of TBLT, which had a strong impact on their teaching practice. In the light of the problems existing in their perception, the study indicated that the successful implementation of TBLT may be realized if teachers could update education concepts, employ effective assessment and be provided with adequate trainings.
