Abstract :
Infinite arrays of cylinders with square cross sections are analyzed using the method of field matching. By applying the method to the volume between the cylinder and the boundary of the cell, the electrostatic field in the volume can be determined. The results presented include the variation of the electrostatic field between the cylinders for various ratios of the half length of one side of the cylinder to the spacing between cylinders, the capacitance of the cylinders, and other characteristics. Various plots of the field are shown and are compared to the results of previous work. Some indication of the accuracy of the analysis is given.<>
