Abstract :
A novel integrated sensor system for indoor air quality (IAQ) measurement based on infrared absorption principle is developed; the system is designed to monitor and evaluate the indoor air quality according to Malaysian IAQ standard. It can measure the concentration of three gases; carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO) and formaldehyde (CH2O) to the 1 part per million (ppm) level. The system consists of three elements; sensor for detection of the target gas, data acquisition via PIC microcontroller and the display of target gas concentrations. For a comprehensive integrated system, relative humidity and temperature measurements are incorporated.
