Abstract :
An investigation was conducted of the electrical and collecting characteristics of a model ESP (electrostatic precipitator) unit with 3 mm-diameter round rods. An empirical formula was derived for estimating the fly-ash layer depth distribution. Using this formula, an improved fly-ash layer depth was achieved by arranging round rods with different diameters. The ion current distribution was controlled to obtain a uniform fly-ash layer.<>
