Abstract
Modal properties of two types of surface-emitting circular Bragg micro-lasers (CBMLs) are compared. Disk CBMLs are suitable for low-threshold, high-efficiency, ultracompact laser design, while ring CBMLs are an excellent candidate for high-efficiency, large-area, high-power applications.
