Abstract :
The voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) in a design of potentially unstable microwave transistor amplifiers in the conjugately characteristic-impedance transmission line (CCITL) system using the T-chart is investigated. The design is carried out under constant operating power gain and maximum output stability and design parameters are computed using the characteristic conductance (CC) approach. Output VSWR values are approximately constant except for the slight increase at higher input VSWR values and argument Phi that is the argument of the CCITL characteristic impedances. Input matching networks are implemented at different input VSWR values using reciprocal CCITL single-stub shunt tuners.
