Abstract
A self tuning adaptive control algorithm called adaptive queue control (AQC) has been proposed for active queue management (AQM) in TCP networks. This scheme exploits online estimates of the network parameters in the control parameters adjustment rule. AQC, as a queue-based control mechanism, responds quickly to traffic changes, thus allowing for high utilization and small loss. It can effectively stabilize the queue length around target level. We illustrate our results using ns-2 simulations and demonstrate the practical impact of self tuning control on managing queue utilization and delay
