Abstract
Achromates´ requirements in reading maps are seldom considered during the color design of the map. The author suggests some rules for map designers, and then establishes map color design schemes for different kinds of achromates. The schemes data stored in database, can be conveniently used by map designers. Finally, an example about electronic map designed with the color design scheme is introduced.
