Abstract :
The rigorous analysis of a circular waveguide cavity with partial-height ferrite insert is an efficient means on the way to a complete computer-aided design of the corresponding waveguide circulator. The paper summarizes the basic parts of this analysis. Results are used in optimizing ferrite dimensions for maximum circulator bandwidth. The field structure in the cavity shows that the remaining steps for the analysis of the strongly coupled junction are reduced to a two-dimensional field problem.
