Abstract :
In this paper, the steady-state model of the VSC-HVDC (voltage source converter based HVDC) system supplying a passive network has been developed. According to this model, the control strategy is presented. At the same time, the AC filter is designed based on analyzing the spectrum of the AC voltage generated by the VSC. Digital simulation shows the validity of the established steady-state model and the designed filter as well as the feasibility of the proposed control strategy, thus, the possibility and promising future to supply a passive network with VSC-HVDC is brought forth.
