Abstract :
This paper proposes a consistency management method for a CASE repository handling the fine grained information of the structured analysis and design methodology. We present a design information model consisting of design objects and nine categories of relationships between them. The new consistency management method based on this model consists of the following three modular constituents: update operation patterns that represent the consistency management operations, a modification rule matrix that specifies how to apply the update operation patterns, and a modification algorithm that determines how the modification rule matrix is used
