Abstract :
Integrating distributed renewable energy sources into a small scale energy zone (SSEZ) requires a control model that can use many services of information. We have investigated how well the characteristics of a service oriented architecture (SOA) are suited to providing the control model for an SSEZ. Our previous research has identified a set of major characteristics for an SOA, and we examine the interactions involved in mapping the design for an SSEZ to them. We found a good match between the two forms and here explored how the design might be represented. A service-based model is able to provide an appropriate basis for managing an SSEZ.
