Abstract
At the input of an ATM network are present some different types of sources with different characteristics, particularly as the bandwidth concern. This paper presents a very efficient method for the real time allocation of resources in ATM networks with a prescribed grade of quality of service. It is known that the exact solution of this problem is quite cumbersome so it is impossible use it in a real time environment. We present an approximate but very fast method that is useful in such situation
