Abstract :
A test set for measurements of the surface resistance in the 8 mm wave region is described. Using a TE013 cavity resonator with transmission coupling the Q-factor measurement is replaced by the measurement of the transmission coefficient in the case of resonance. To lock the oscillator frequency to the resonant frequency of the resonator an AFC circuit is used. Special applications in the field of material testing and quality control are reported.
