Abstract
A new method for the determination of the leakage reactances, iron losses and iron loss resistance in three-phase power transformer is presented in this paper. These parameters are calculated within the design process of the machine utilising the finite element method. The behaviour study of the transformer is accomplished utilising two-dimensional planar models. The results obtained, by means of the calculation method, are good if compared with those measured in the laboratory once the machine has been built The proposed method constitutes an industrial application to the design and modelling of this type of electric machine.
