Abstract
A new rescue technique to stabilize the fast transversal filter (FTF) using the most efficient recursive least squares (RLS) algorithm and to implement the stabilized FTF on the commercially available DSP56000, DSP32, and TMS320C30 digital signal processors (DSPs) is presented. Long-term stability testing is performed by configuring FTF to predict second-order autoregressive process with different eigenvalue spreads of the input autocorrelation matrix. Experimental results show that the FTF works well with this rescue technique
