Technical communications in a market economy call for consideration of other disciplines not usually associated with the communication of technical information. The implications for technical communicators of the following topics are explored: audience analysis, public relations, crisis communications, total quality and other change programs, problem-solving, marketing communications, corporate culture, ethics and technical information, dealing with the media responsible technical communications in a global market environment demand that corporations and governments develop a partnership with their various publics
