Abstract
In this paper, we focus on the structural decomposition of linear time-invariant descriptor systems. It has been extensively demonstrated and proven by Chen et al. that its counterpart for proper systems has played an important role in solving many control problems such as H2 and Hinfin control problems. We develop the structural decomposition technique of SISO system when the distributional equivalence is considered. We give a step-by-step constructive proof for the structural decomposition of SISO linear time-invariant descriptor systems.
