Abstract
An MMIC BPSK modulator is designed and realised using 0.5 micron MESFETs on GaAs wafer. BPSK modulation function is achieved using a novel active phase splitter and DPST switch. The modulator occupies an area of 1 mm square and dissipates 75 mW of power. The measured results indicate a carrier suppression of 24 dB at 6 GHz for bit rates upto 250 Mbits/s.
