Abstract
In the medical and industrial application, the microwave sources are often put near irradiated dielectric materials. At proximity of the application, the radiated fields have the properties of near-zone fields. In this paper we investigate the consequences induced on heating process by near-fields scattering across slots in the dissipated milieus. The applicators constituted by antennas network are look into. It´s revealed that the characteristic properties of networks can´t be applied because of the existence of the near-zone fields and great losses in the dielectric material. Then two examples of application are described : Therapeutic hyperthermia and microwave browning of foods.
