Abstract
The features of development of miniature radionuclide thermoelectric generators (RTGs) based on Pu-238 are considered. The design features of mini-RTGs, developed in the USSR and Russia, are analyzed. These mini-RTGs have found practical application in terrestrial and space engineering. General characteristics as well as characteristics of mini-RTGs on Pu-238 are discussed. Mini-RTGs on Pu-238 can find applications in future Russian Space programs concerning Deep Space investigation.
