  • Abstract
A South African based petrochemical company has a very large installed base of Medium Voltage Motors, with a large portion of the installed base age exceeding twenty years. Challenges have been experienced on numerous motors with inter-laminar insulation deterioration of the stator and rotor cores. A new technology (for the South African market), entails the re-introduction of new inter-laminar insulation, while the core is still assembled. The application of the process has already enabled the above mentioned company to repair certain critical motors.
