Abstract
Digital work design (DWD) tools have been applied to FTTP. An extensive ergonomic analysis of a new local convergence point (LCP) product, conducted in a 3D virtual world, has resulted in an improved product with reduced number of product design iterations. Application of these tools can reduce both labor costs and time-to-market and help ensure that network elements are "user friendly" and safe.
