Abstract :
This paper presents a time domain analysis of the finite difference time domain method (FDTD) on the scattering characteristic of a large chamber which has 36 m×26 m×17 m dimensions with Fourier and wavelet transforms. In order to predict the time-frequency characteristics of the EMC chamber designed, a modified FDTD method including the lossy materials has been used to compute the scattering field of the chamber. Based on the mathematic transform techniques, a new FDTD formula has been obtained for the frequency dependent materials, the absorbers in chamber. With the computer code in this paper, the time domain characteristics of an EMC chamber have been researched for different excitation sources. The research in this paper shows the advantages of the FDTD in electromagnetic field computation, especially in EMC problems
