Abstract
A digital control system for a brushless DC motor using an 8031 microcontroller is described in this paper. The adoption of the bipolar PWM technique makes the motor operate in four quadrants. The proportional plus integration technique is used to adjust speed and decrease overshoot and transients. Based on the above, the dynamic performance of the system is significantly improved
