Abstract
Software engineering is one of the youngest disciplines of engineering. The very concept of making the software development as an engineering activity was to get rid of many problems which were and are being faced related to quality of service. Though new methods, procedures, tools, processes and practices are being devised and used. But solution has to be found by looking at the problem from a different prospective. This paper is going to analyze the fundamental requirements of such a paradigm shift, by first gathering the concept and then translating this to a workable solution. Different allied concept associated with the implementations, would be analyzed. Software engineering from ground-up, totally from a different angle would be looked into. One of the factors is the personalization of the software because QoS varies from user to user. In this paper a service based software engineering approach has been analyzed in general and personalization aspect has been looked into in-particular
