Considering the development “bottleneck” of cities dependent on non-renewable natural resources, this paper analyzes and puts up the definition of resource-based city based on the contrast of the transformation of resource-based cities. After the definition, this study compares the transformation cases at home and abroad and summarizes the common transformation model of resource-based city.
