  • Abstract
The proliferation of smartphones and other mobile devices has led to the introduction of mobile programming courses in some universities and colleges. This paper presents a survey of undergraduate and graduate courses that teach programming of smartphones that run on the Android mobile operating system. The survey presents the course objectives and course outlines, software development platforms that are used in the courses, examples of some projects, and information on project ideas. This survey is a valuable resource for those who are currently teaching or thinking of teaching a mobile programming course.
