  • Abstract
Insulin therapy is one of the most effective means in glucose control. In this paper, a fuzzy-PID control strategy is designed for continuous insulin infusion. The computer simulations are done using a mathematical model of the dynamics of blood glucose-insulin regulation in the blood system developed by Hovorka et al. The simulation results demonstrate that the fuzzy-PID controller can perform well in different carbohydrate ingestion and different insulin sensitivity situations. The simulation is performed to manifest the theoretical analysis. The development reported in this paper is expected to provide guidance of insulin therapy, thereby enhancing the quality of life of the diabetic patient.
