Abstract :
A vessel type integrated natural circulation 5 MW low temperature district heating reactor has been developed and successfully operated by Institute of Nuclear Energy Technology (INET), Tsinghua University since 1989. Now a 200 MW (HR-200) heating reactor is under design. The HR-200 has relatively low operating parameters, a simpler system and easier fabrication for equipment, so the capital cost of the HR-200 is lower than the PWR and the cost of heat production is lower than that of a conventional boiler. This kind of reactor also can be used as supplementary heating for industrial processes, sea water desalination, cogeneration, air-conditioning, oil recovery and so on. This paper discusses the potential market and relative economic analysis for the low temperature district heating reactor.<>
