Abstract :
In this paper we investigate the fundamental electronic, electron-phonon, spin-orbit and spin-spin interaction of the 4f/sup n/ and 4f/sup n-1/5d electronic configurations of trivalent rare earth ions in wide band gap fluoride dielectric crystals and magnetic properties are studied.
