Abstract
Presents observations of the co-polar correlation coefficient |ρhv(0)| made with a ground based and airborne weather radars along the vertical. Also differential phase and differential reflectivity at a 10° off nadir are shown. Simple models of prolate and oblate spheroids are used to qualitatively explain the observations
