Abstract
The potential large scale integration of renewable resources and other factors will likely increase the need for transmission system expansion. New engineering graduates must be prepared to perform this work at a time when most planning engineers are nearing retirement. This paper discusses several questions posed by the Power Education Committee regarding curriculum and key skills required of recent graduates entering the system planning workforce.
