Abstract :
Ion mobility sensor based on photo-ionization light source for sensing trace gas and volatile organic compounds is proposed. This paper describes modeling and experimental studies carried out with the differential ion mobility sensor for detection of ammonia gas. Preliminary studies were performed and the state of ionization of NH3 gas was studied through a differential voltage measurement system. Further, a novel sensor based on high field asymmetric RF differential ion mobility sensor is also proposed and designed. Numerical simulation was carried out with COMSOL MultiPhysics software package.
