Abstract :
In this paper, it tells us that if we could effectively burnish a disk surface before sliding a new head, the wear volume of the head must be smaller than that without burnishing. This led us a concept of burnishing a disk surface by a contact slider of a hard material that does not fly like conventional burnishing sliders. We called this "Contact Burnishing".
