Abstract :
A smart dispatch system implemented in North China Grid (NCG) is presented, which includes system overview, scheduling applications, main functions, and dispatcher user interface. The scheduling applications are: plant energy contract decomposition, day-ahead scheduling, intra-day big-loop scheduling, and intra-day small loop scheduling. The main functions include constraint management, dynamic limit, dynamic unit group control, real-time topology vs. outage schedule, load forecast interface, plant energy contract monitor, and bus load forecast. The dispatcher experience of using this system in production system operation and the potential future enhancements are also covered.
