Abstract :
This paper categorizes the algorithms which are being developed for the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM). The discussion includes algorithms which utilize the active and passive microwave sensors as well as the combination of all rain sensors on TRMM and beyond to an algorithm which considers the TRMM satellite in conjunction with other satellites. The rapid development of algorithms coupled with the limited resources of the data system, however, impose certain limitations upon the type and number of algorithms which will be applied to the data early in the mission
