  • Abstract
South Bank University (SBU) teaches systems engineering in a computing context. They recognize that there are many different methods and that each is not suitable in all situations. Towards the end of the computing degree SBU tell students to view methods as tools in a tool box and that there is no one medicine for all ills. In developing this teaching the author is attempting to discover the criteria that might be considered important when selecting or designing a method(s) for constructing computer based systems
