  • Abstract
A systems integration approach providing total integration of machine and facilities for the Compact Ignition Tokamak (CIT) is presented. In particular, the approach ensures that the test-cell design accommodates all envisioned component agreements during the machine lifetime, that maintenance operations can be accomplished with available equipment, and that a degree of operating flexibility is incorporated into the overall configuration. The Systems Integration Group has defined machine component interfaces, established maintenance requirements, and coordinated appropriate facility changes. A facility arrangement allowing personnel access into the diagnostic cells, the high bay, and the basement, and providing for remote maintenance in the center-cell where the machine core is located has been developed. The center-cell arrangement is based on installing up to seven midplane heating systems, an array of diagnostics, and an articulated boom manipulator for in-vessel remote maintenance operations
