Abstract
This study analyses radiation and reception characteristics of UWB antennas for an array of equally spaced dipoles of different lengths at the transmitter and a single dipole at the receiver. Radiated energy from the array of dipoles and received energy by the load at the terminals of the receiving dipole are calculated. Correlation coefficient between the load voltage and source pulse is investigated to examine the detection characteristics at the receiver. Effect of changing different array parameters such as element spacing and number of elements are presented. The analysis is performed in the frequency domain providing a new perspective for the design considerations of UWB antennas.
