Abstract
This paper presents a method, for optimising the feed sizes and positions of rectangular feed horns in an irregular array of differently sized feeds for a multi-feed antenna. Thus, a generalised arrangement of such feeds can be automatically optimised towards a desired antenna farfield pattern. As satellite antenna designs are becoming more complex, the need for such a process is obvious. Examples are included to demonstrate the effectiveness of this new technique.
