Abstract :
In this paper, we present recent advances in high resolution near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and its applications in cognitive disorders. We first give a brief introduction about NIRS and its development history. Then we present our current studies on how to improve the spatial resolution of NIRS. In Section 3, we give a brief review on its clinical applications to cognitive disorders, especially our current work on elderly depressed patients. Finally, some prospects and future research directions in this field are also given.
