  • Abstract
IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is a common architecture providing real-time and non real-time IP multimedia services. 3GPP IP Multimedia Subsystem is a part of 3G system core network (CN) and provides an IP-based session control capabilities based on Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). Although 3GPP organization defines some security mechanisms to protect IP-based IMS network, there are still some security issues, such as the Media stream security. End-to-end (or user-to-user) security can be considered a more secure mechanism, because only two entities can be attacked. This paper use password-based authentication key exchange protocol under distinct authentication servers.
