Abstract
Yellow substance (DOC) concentration was retrieved from SeaWiFS data by employment of a newly developed local algorithm, which is based on simulated reflectance data and sea truth DOC data measured in the Pearl River estuary of southern China. The estimated results have a good accuracy and similar distribution pattern compared to sea truth data
